About Alpha Phi Omega -

Alpha Beta

Alpha Phi Omega - National

Alpha Phi Omega was originally founded in Easton, Pennsylvania at Lafayette College by Frank Reed Horton in 1925. Since then APO has spread to over 375 campuses, 500,000 members, and even into other countries like Canada and the Philippines - making APO the largest Greek letter organization in the United States.

Alpha Phi Omega has grown and changed throughout these almost 100 years, but one thing has not - the commitment to the our pillars of Leadership, Friendship, and Service and developing our members in all three. We are also originally founded on the ideals of Scouting, and we still work with the Boy Scouts of America, but some of our other national partners include Relay For Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Special Olympics, and many more.

Alpha Beta - Penn State

The Alpha Beta Chapter was founded at Penn State in 1932 as the 26th chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. Since then it has been active in serving the campus and surrounding State College community as well as graduating generations of student leaders who have gone on to exemplify the principles of APO.

The Chapter currently resides in Region O Section 4 covering the eastern part of Pennsylvania. We are involved in many projects on and off campus as well as work with neighboring chapters of APO. Additionally, we are close knit family that embodies the pillar of friendship and remain connected well after graduation. We are always looking for ways to grow and improve, and provide the experience we have had to future students.
